Music Ministry - Adult Choir

The adult choir is directed by Mary Verdi and sings at Mass each week.  Rehearsals are Sundays at 9:30am between Masses.  This choir sings a range of styles both traditional and contemporary pieces.  If you would like to join us, fantastic!   Please call Mary Verdi at 841-1140 or email her at

Eucharistic Adoration

Adoration is at the church from 9:00 am to 12 noon on Fridays.

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish and school. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

Offertory Counters

Groups of 4 count the funds collected at Mass each week. Each group volunteers about once a month.

Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of Sacred Heart Parish.

Parish Outreach

If you are unable to attend the weekend liturgy because of illness or lack of mobility or other health reasons and would like to be included on our First Friday Communion list, please call the Rectory, 413-443-6960.   Also, if you or a family member is dismissed from the hospital to a nursing home or residential facility, and would like to receive visits from our pastoral ministers, please call the Rectory at 443-6960.

Prayer Line

Sacred Heart Parish is blessed to have a group of parishioners who join in supportive prayer for our parish community.  If you have an intention to be remembered in prayer, just call the Rectory 443-6960 by Tuesday afternoon.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

This ministry began as a visible way for us to nurture and care for members of our parish family.  A shawl is a sign that we live and care for each other.  We invite everyone to join our Ministry that meets each Monday in the Parish Center from 6:30-8:00pm.  Please contact Lisa Eichelser at 413-347-3708 if you are interested in creating and donating a shawl, yarn or gift bags.

Rosary Sodality

Meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Parish Center.  All registered women of the Parish are memebers of the Sodality whether of not tghey actively participate in meetings or events. Under the direction of the Pastoral Staff, members strive to lead a life of Catholic conduct, continue fellowship among parishioners, take a general interest in the welfare of the parish and are willing to assist the Pastor in an concerns of the parish. Members also take part in programs and events, publicity, breakfast/dinner, Honor Guard, decorating the Church, Out Reach projects, refreshments.  For more information contact Rosemary Polidoro, 442-9513 or Marie Gormalley, 442-8924.

Sacred Heart Women's Honor Guard

The Honor Guard is present at every woman's funeral.  The Rosary is recited prior to the funeral service.  The Honor Guard precedes the casket both entering and exiting the Church.  New members are welcome and needed.  Please contact Mary DeBlieux at 413-443-4171.

Senior Altar Server

Men and women who assist at Mass or Funeral masses to enhance the worship of our faith community. Contact the Rectory- 443-6960 or Don DeBlieux- 443-4171 if you wish to become part of this important ministry.

Stations of the Cross

Held Friday afternoons at 3:00pm during Lent and at 3:00pm on Good Friday.

Usher/ Minister of Hospitality

These volunteers ensure that Sacred Heart Church is a welcoming catholic community. Making parishioners feel welcome, assisting people to their seat if necessary and taking part in the collection as needed.


Baptism Preparation

Sacred Heart welcomes new life in the Sacrament of Baptism, which is usually celebrated on the Second Sunday of the month following 10:30am Mass.  Parents are encouraged to make arrangements for a Baptism by contacting Deacon Bob (442-5564) prior to their baby's birth to assist them in planning for the Sacrament in accordance with our Catholic Faith.

Altar Server

Boys and girls from grade 3 and above who assist the priest at the liturgy.  Please contact the Rectory at 413-443-6960

Eucharistic Minister

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound. Please contact the Rectory at 413-443-6960

Rite of Christian Initiation – preparation of adult candidates for Catholic sacraments. Contact the St. Joseph Rectory at (413)445-5789 for more information.


Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Flowers and Grounds

Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church.

Habitat for Humanity

Sacred Heart Parishioners assist 2-3 times a year for on-site work or preparing lunches for the volunteers. Both skilled and unskilled workers are necessary.  If interested, please contact Eve Valenzuela-Eastzer at (413)637-4723.

Monday Morning Craft Group

Makes all kinds of Christmas items such as ornaments, quilted table runners, wreaths, hats, scarves, decorations and much more.  The group meets weekly each Monday from 9:30-11:30am.  We welcome and need any type of skill, such as crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc.  If you don't have a skill, we will train you.  We also accept donations of material, yarn, craft items, etc.  All items that are made are sold at the annual Christmas Bazaar and all proceeds go directly to the Church.  For more information call Elvira Terranova at 413-443-1903New members are always welcome and needed!!!
